FULL NAME: HANNAH DAISY ABBOTT
“My mother named me Hannah because, I think, I have a grandmother named Hannah. It’s a rather nice name and I quite like it. In fact, I think it’s just lovely. The name Hannah means gracious, or so I’ve been told. I rather like to think of myself as a kind and gracious person, so it seems fitting. I really have no idea what my mother was thinking when she gave me the middle name Daisy. I asked why once and she told me it was because she just liked Daisy’s. Hm. They are pretty. The flower symbolizes innocence and purity and all that jazz. I suppose it’s a nice flower to be named after. Then my last name Abbott is a nice name. It’s a muggle name. You see, my father’s a muggleborn wizard, whereas my mother is a pureblood wizard. Her family wasn’t very happy when she chose the Muggleborn over her husband to be, but that’s mum for you.”

It’s particularly nice with charms and the like. Not so much with the Dark Arts, but I don’t plan much on using those types of spells any time soon.”

PERSONALITY:
Hannah has never liked to describe herself as brave. She thinks it’s a word that should only be applied to good people like Gryffindors. She doesn’t necessarily understand the concept of bravery. After all, it means more than just standing up to a scary beast. Hannah has never been afraid of stepping out of her comfort zone and standing up for herself. In the face of an enemy, Hannah will rarely stand down. Perhaps this equates to too much pride, but she is never afraid of a challenge. In an argument with words, she can handle herself fine. However, she will walk away from a duel. As soon as someone brings out their wand, Hannah will not pull out her own wand, instead she’ll walk away. (Unless she’s in some sort of mortal danger, in which case, she will pull out her wand as well). Otherwise, Hannah’s not much of a fan of violence. Perhaps, this was why Gryffindor was not the house for her. Throwing a punch is all fine and dandy when you’re extremely angry at someone, or if they threaten her, but if someone’s merely taunting Hannah, she won’t think twice before walking away or waving goodbye. Her mother taught her well. In preschool, Hannah had a bully problem. A boy a year older than her did nothing but pick on her because he didn’t like the clothing she wore to school. He thought it was too different, or at least that was what he said to poor young Hannah every day before school. Hannah put up with the taunting for an entire year without anyone knowing. Not even her parents knew about the boy’s verbal abuses toward their daughter. Of course, it was grammar school, so nothing escaladed to extreme levels. One day though, a teacher discovered the boy’s taunting of the little girl. When Hannah was asked why she never said something to the principal or to her teacher, she merely shrugged, looked away and said, “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” Bravery is more than having the ability to stand up for ones self and others. It’s also the ability to walk away. While Hannah can stand up for herself and refuses to see others get bullied, she will generally walk away from an escalading fight for fear of violence breaking out.
However, there are more than just a few ploys in her bravery. Hannah has never handled pressure very well. When it comes to her friends life crisis’s she can handle them full on and give them sound advice, but when it comes to her own problems, she has little to no clue as to what to do. Hannah hates the feeling of someone breathing down her neck and causing her endless stress. She always worries about her grades and she hates taking exams knowing she is not going to do well. Sometimes she wishes she had the brain capacity of Hermione Granger, because then she might not feel so stupid sometimes. Hannah hides her problems for the sake of her friends, but they always seem to be able to tell when she’s feeling stressed. The nurse has come to know Hannah well over the years for the few calming draughts she had to take before a few potions exams, so she could clear her head and not pass out from hyperventilating with Snape reading over her shoulder. This year with OWL’s, Hannah’s even more worried. She knows that she could do well if she studies, but she worried that her nerves will sine through. She’s already starting to estimate how many times she will have to visit the nurse during the year and then toward the time of the exams. Hannah likes to put on a show for her friends and other onlookers. While she always seems so bubbly and happy all the time, she has very low self-confidence of herself. Hannah wishes she didn’t have such problems. Her low self-confidence is the result of being bullied for parts of her life. In grammar school there was always some boy picking on her, and it never seemed to disappear the older she got. Hannah always worries about the type of image she represents. So, while she gives the persona of someone who only wants to live life and have fun, she’s constantly thinking about each of her actions and how it would affect someone else. Hannah’s biggest critic is her self.
Innocence is the essence of Hannah. She doesn’t get mixed up in drugs and booze, she lives life cleanly and in her own little world. When people first meet Hannah she can come off as rather naïve. Not many people realize that she spends an afternoon every Sunday reading the Daily Prophet and breezes through the newspaper every morning at breakfast. Hannah does like to know what’s going on in the world, but she doesn’t always like to think it applies to her. Hannah hates this quality about herself, but she is prone to falling for simple pranks or jokes. Her gullibility isn’t something she’s proud of. Sadly, she’s much to trusting of people. She believes to give almost everyone a chance to prove their worth in life, but this backfires on her often and leaves her to be an easy target. Hannah realizes that there are good and bad people in the world, but she has this small hope and desire to find the good in everyone. However, her search to find the good in everyone always seems to fall short. Hannah has never done anything wrong or terrible in her life. Maybe it’s because she’s so young, or maybe it’s because she’s afraid of her friends getting hurt, but this goes along with her desire to not cause conflict. She detests violence and wishes for peace in the world. While, Hannah is an idealist, she is not an idiot. She knows that her wishes are far fetched and will probably never occur, but that’s all they are. Wishes. In contrast to the idea of ignorance, Hannah upholds her innocence with a positive light. She is optimistic for the future and what it holds. In general, Hannah is rather creative. When she’s talking to someone and the conversation is getting dull, she’ll throw in some random fact that she recently learned in either a library book or one her parents sent to her. Hannah loves random trivia and she knows quite a bit. While Hannah is not clever, she can think up things on the spot and she loves making people giggle and smile.
Once Hannah is your friend, she is your friend for life, except for the rare unique circumstance that she doesn’t like you, but only a few have managed that. Hannah is a Hufflepuff for the obvious reasons. First of all, Hannah is fair. She gives everyone a chance and believes whole heartedly that people can change or that they are not what they appear. If Hannah was ever asked to judge a contest, she would probably be one of the most honest and fair people in the group. Hannah works wonderfully with others for this reason. If Hannah hadn’t been a witch, she would have made a wonderful Muggle preschool teacher for young children. She maintains a high degree of patience and can work with almost anyone. The next obvious reason as to why Hannah is a Hufflepuff is her undying loyalty. As mentioned, once Hannah is your friend, she’s your friend for life. Hannah loves her friends and sticks by their side. Even just as acquaintances, she always waves hi to them in the hallway and if she hasn’t spoken to a friend in a long amount of time, she goes out of her way to do so. While other girls of her grade tend to participate in gossip, Hannah always tries to stay out of it. It doesn’t always work, in some way or another, Hannah finds someway to get involved, but she tries to avoid gossip at all costs. She doesn’t like saying mean things about people behind their back. It makes so much more sense to just say it to their face. When it comes to her friends, she takes very good care of them. Hannah is wonderful at gaining the trust of another. Her sincere care of her friends, helps her gain their trust. Hannah loves solving everyone else’s problems, but her own. Over the years at Hogwarts, Hannah has grown to give good advice.
When it comes to the Hogwarts social scene, Hannah is always at every party and every function. She’s organized a number of Hufflepuff pre-quidditch game parties already. Hannah likes being around other people and getting involved at parties. While she doesn’t partake in more scandalous aspects of the party, she can always find a few people to talk too. Hannah’s scared of throwing herself into the world of what happens after parties, so during them she talks to the people who aren’t drinking. One of Hannah’s many secrets is that she’s never tasted alcohol. She’s also never been offered to drink any, maybe just assume she either has or doesn’t know what it is. Despite the party scene that Hannah lives in, she is socially outgoing during school hours as well. She is never afraid to walk up to someone and welcome them to the school. Or say hi or wave to others in the hallways. Hannah enjoys the company around people. She submerges herself in the social scene in order to stay away from being alone. Hannah hates the feeling of being alone, it lowers her self-confidence than being surrounded by many people who look up to her. Hannah has acted as a role model for her peers for the past five years, which is why, she believes, she received the shiny prefect badge the past summer. Hannah’s final, and most endearing quality besides her kindness and loyalty, is her pride. The tragic flaw of many, Hannah included, is how proud she is of herself, her family and her friends. Hannah doesn’t lower her head to anyone. She might fall under the stereotypical Hufflepuff traits, but Hannah does not bow down to anyone, which is how she avoided becoming a well liked target. It took Hannah a few goes to finally be removed from the Slytherin target list. [/font]

HAIR/EYES: BLONDE/BLUE
“I have hair. It’s blonde and curly and I have this wonderful shampoo that makes it smell amazing. Wow. Isn’t that lovely? I love my hair. It’s so swishy and pretty and I can toss it around this way and that, then other times I can pull it up into a bun, but I normally just let it call. My hair’s not super curly. It’s good it doesn’t fall in those pretty curly-q’s otherwise, I would never get my class work done, all I would want to do would be to play with my pretty hair.
HEIGHT/WEIGHT: FIVE FOOT SIX/118 LBS
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: “Oh, I don’t know how to describe myself. I think I look quite lovely, but I don’t know how others perceive me. What if they think I’m ugly? Or I believe, I heard Pansy Parkinson saying something awful about my nose once, but she always has something awful to say, doesn’t she? I think so. Wow. Isn’t that funny? How Slytherins always have something rather awful to say? Oh right. I’m talking about myself, aren’t I? I did I say I think I look quite lovely. I have blonde hair and blue eyes. My face is rather round and I had to wear braces when I was nine, but I got those off quickly. Mum couldn’t tolerate seeing those metal things in my mouth and fixed it. She and Dad had a fight. That’s one of the few fights I actually remember them having. And it was over my teeth, how silly. I have rather pale skin, even in the sunlight, nothing seems to turn it into another color, except red, but when it turns red, it hurts. I do love the sun though, so I have to apply lots of sun block. Or rather, mummy taught me this nice little spell to help me keep the sun away. It’s such a nice little spell. I’d love to teach it to you sometime if you ask.
“Maybe I can tell you the clothing I wear? Does that could for a physical description? I like skirts, and dresses, and pretty things, but I don’t own a lot of pretty things. If I was ever jealous of another girl, it was in my fourth year, when a girl my age went on a hogsmeade trip one weekend in the prettiest white dress, I had ever seen. I can’t really afford such luxuries. My mum was born into money, but her parents sort of banished her. She never told me how that worked out, but I’m old enough to assume. So, I like nice clothing. I have a lot of simple dresses that I can dress up with pretty jewelry that I own. I have a lot of funky knee high socks that I like to wear with my plain dresses, I think they turn out pretty once I add all the accessories. Well, I like them. I have to wear my uniform more than I usually want too. I’d rather be naked than wear that thing all the time, but I suppose it could be worse, but after wearing it all day, it’s easy to get sick of. With prefect duties and such, it’s like I have to wear it all the time. If I had to sum up my style in one word, it would be relaxed. I like pretty things, but I also like wearing jeans and a tee shirt. My clothing is never to crazy, but I certainly do not wear clothing that can be found in an everyday store.”

PARENTS/GUARDIANS: Marigold and Jensen Abbott
“My parents are darling, I love them to bits. My mother is a pureblood witch. Her family doesn’t talk to her for marrying a muggleborn wizard, but I think my daddy is splendid and don’t see how anyone can’t love daddy. I don’t have any siblings, I suppose mummy and daddy just thought that one Hannah was enough. But I love them dearly and don’t know what I would do without them.”
OTHER NOTABLE RELATIVES: none
CHARACTER HISTORY:
Once upon a time there was a lad and a lass who went by the name of Jensen Abbott and Marigold Apple. The two met in their first year, on their first day of school during the sorting ceremony. After being asked to be lined up in alphabetical order, Jensen and Marigold got to talking. After they were called and the ceremony was finished, both eleven year olds were sorted into Hufflepuff and could continue their whole conversation. After a few months, it was decided that the two were best friends. There was no way around it. That first year was bliss for the two youths and loads of fun. Then they had to start growing up. At first neither really knew what was happening, but their friendship became complicated because they fell in love. Yet, to add to all the complications, Marigold Apple was a pureblood witch who had pureblood elite parents, while poor Jensen had muggleborn parents who were absolutely adorable in Marigolds eyes. So after lots of fighting and to make a very long story the length of a paragraph, Jensen Abbott and Marigold Apple got married on a very warm sunny day in June. It was a small ceremony and the only people in the church were Jensen’s parents and a few of their friends from Hogwarts. Marigold’s family refused communication with their youngest daughter. Then almost ten months later, Jensen and Marigold were welcoming a little girl into their lives. Her name was Hannah. Hannah Daisy Abbott.
Hannah’s childhood was happy and blissful. Her parents loved and adored her to no end. Marigold and Jensen took utmost care of their beloved daughter. Hannah had a special knack for getting into a rather large amount of trouble for such a small girl. For instance, one day, they were on a family picnic and Hannah supposedly wandered off into the woods. Worried, both of her parents frantically searched for Hannah. They practically striped the park, or what they could of it, to find their little daughter. While Jensen and Marigold searched, Hannah had decided she was hungry, so while her parents searched the entire park, Hannah meandered back to their picnic basket and pulled out a banana to eat. At the end of the day, worried sick, their parents gave up and lo and behold found a sleeping Hannah curled up on their blanket. Relieved, shocked and a little angry, they took her home and didn’t go back to that park for a few months. Hannah got out of life as much as she could when she was little. She liked to run around and read. She especially loved to read. All the silly books her mother could check her out of the library, she would read them all. Jensen and Marigold had high hopes for Hannah’s intelligence. While, she was not the most ingenious girl, she picked up things quickly and had a superb memory. For such a little girl, she could recall the most obscure facts that she heard from day in to day out.
The life of a child is generally sweet and full of ignorance. Perhaps Hannah could still be called slightly immature today. Her biggest fear is probably growing up because she loves being a kid, but one day she’ll have to grow up sooner than she thinks. However, for now, being a kid was no big deal. Then the day Hannah turned eleven, both of her parents got rather excited. They knew Hannah was a witch from their careful observations of her. She could levitate cookies from the cookie jar that she was not supposed to be eating, not to mention she had a strange knack for bringing home all sorts of animals. Animals seemed strangely attracted to her. When Hannah would talk to her mother about her strong desire for owning a kitten, that very afternoon, a little cat would be pawing at their back door. At first it seemed like a coincidence, but by the sixth kitten and third puppy, it seemed that Hannah was doing a little more than wishing. On her eleventh birthday, a very large barn owl came with a very special letter for her. Hannah had been accepted to Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry, this was probably one of the happiest moments of her parent’s lives. Although they knew it would come, the smile on their daughters face made the venture far more worth while. They hoped Hannah would be sorted into Hufflepuff like them selves. However, where ever she ended up never really made much of a difference to them.
Later that summer, they took Hannah shopping in Diagon Alley. Hannah barely knew anything of magic. She knew her mummy and daddy had special powers, but she never understood them. Not until now, at least. Her whole life had been spent in horrible grammar schools with mean little boys picking on her and pulling her pretty blond hair, but no more. Hannah held very high expectations of Hogwarts, and hoped that it wouldn’t be disappointing. Anyway, after shopping for her robes, school books and other supplies, the only thing left to buy was the wand. This was probably the most thrilling part. The wand was the most important instrument. Ollivander was very nice, and that’s mostly what Hannah remembers about this experience. She went through about four wands before finding the right one. All in all it was most certainly worth it. Hannah treasures her wand beyond any other item she has ever treasured before in her life. When September rolled around it was time to say goodbye. Good bye was hard, because Hannah had never been very far from her parents. It was such an odd sensation to know that she wouldn’t wake up every morning to find them down stairs eating breakfast when she got up, but pushing those feelings aside, she embarked on her own adventure.
The train was, well, magical. Hannah would not be able to find another word to describe it. It was something she had waited her whole life to see. The first word that escaped her mouth was, “wow.” Boarding the train was easy, but looking out the window at her parents was so much harder. She waved goodbye and went off to find a compartment. There weren’t very many available, walking along the train she saw another little girl, one with rather dark hair, who was sitting alone, so she slid open the door and asked to sit with her. This was how Hannah met Susan Bones, her soon to be best friend at Hogwarts. Once they got to the castle, Hannah got off the train and followed Hagrid along with the rest of the first years onto the little boats that would take them to Hogwarts. Although most of this day was a complete blur to Hannah, she distinctly remembers the sorting ceremony. This was one of the proudest days of her life, when Hannah was sorted into the house of her family. Hannah had never met her grandparents on her mother’s side, but she knew that her mother had been a Hufflepuff and her father had been a Hufflepuff, and that was all that mattered. Hannah was the first name called during the ceremony. How nerve racking for the young eleven year old. She sat on the stool and listened to the Hat talk in her ear. It was amazing. The hat said, “Oh, my, let’s see, where to put you? Ravenclaw and Slytherin are out of the question, but my, Gryffindor. You would do fine there… but no, I think that you have the loving qualities of a HUFFLEPUFF.” And with that Hannah joined the cheering members of her house to nervously sit with them for the rest of the ceremony.
First year is one of the hardest years. Thrust into a brand new school, barely knowing anyone is hard business. It would be sad to say that Hannah made no friends, but she made lots. Hannah is not the type of kid to sit around and watch the world fly by. She threw herself into the sea of fellow Hufflepuffs and introduced herself. Making friends came naturally, what didn’t come naturally was school work. Hannah is a hard little worker bee, but classes were hard. Never did she receive a bad grade, but for all the good grades she received she had to work extremely hard. Hannah did not have the natural talent, like Hermione Granger, for studying. In regards to Harry Potter, Hannah knew who he was, but not really. He was in a few of her classes. When the first year Hufflepuffs and Gryffindors were paired together, she would see Harry and his scar, but Hannah never got involved. He was a nice boy and all, but since he was not in Hufflepuff they had little interaction. By the end of Hannah’s first year, she was friends with Susan Bones, Ernie Macmillan and Justin Finch-Fletchy. Second year was almost as much fun as her first year. Making more friends and struggling through classes felt like a regular routine for the young girl. However, the Chamber of Secrets had been opened. Skeptical, at first, over Harry’s involvement in the Chamber, Hannah defended him, saying that he was such a nice boy and that he wouldn’t do such a thing. Hannah likes to find the best in everyone. When Justin was attacked, Hannah was very upset. Justin was a good friend, and she hated seeing him hurt. It was then that she fully believed in what Ernie had told her about Harry. But when Hermione Granger was attacked, Hannah was the first to apologize to Harry. The first and second years of Hannah Abbott were interesting to say the least. Sitting on the sidelines during Harry’s years at school, were without a doubt, interesting.
Third year was the year of Sirius Black, but Hannah was never really concerned about Sirius. She had more important things on her mind. Like how to get to class without running into a dementor or boys. Boys started entering themselves into Hannah’s life when she was thirteen. When Hannah turned into a teenager, the world of boy’s seemed to open up to her. There were so many pretty boys in their school. While Hannah is not one of the most outgoing in concern to relationships, she had a few crushes this year that she won’t soon forget. Overall, third year added more stress to Hannah’s mindset. First there were studies, then there were friends and now boys? What could get worse? That’s when the fourth year started. Fourth year brought about the Triwizard Tournament. Finally, Hufflepuff had glory bestowed upon their house when Cedric Diggory was selected as a champion. Hannah along with the rest of her house cheered excitedly for the handsome seventh year. Like the rest of her house, she was upset when Harry Potter was also selected as a champion. Gryffindor just couldn’t stand that Hufflepuff got a bit of the limelight, but no matter, by the end of the year, Hannah felt bad for her previous thoughts and was one of the few that believed Harry when he came back announcing Voldemorts return. Now Hannah is faced with the challenge of her fifth year. Over the summer, she received her prefect badge, along with Ernie Macmillan to represent their house and enforce rules. Excited with her bit of power, Hannah is eager to return. However, she has already decided this year is going to be different. Hannah decided that this year she was going to start standing up for herself more and choose a side.
